Okabe struggles to recover from a failed attempt at rescuing Kurisu. He decides to abandon his lively scientist alter ego to forget the past. He is pulled back into the past by meeting an acquaintance of Kurisu, who is testing a device that stores the memory of a human & creates a simulation of them with their characteristics and personalities. Okabe begins testing and finds out that the simulation of Kurisu has brought back anguish and some new unexpected tragedies.

The leader of Future Gadgets Research Laboratory. After an incident, he is very aware of his helplessness and lack of power.

Makise Kurisu

A friend of the laboratory that Okabe wanted to save. She died on 28 July in Akihabara. An old friend.

Shiina Mayuri

A childhood friend of Okabe. She's good at understanding people. She is one of the Laboratory's member.

Amane Suzuha

A time traveler that came from the future. Because of the different habits between the time she came from, her innocent gestures can stand out.

Hashida Itaru

A hacker called by the rest of the Laboratory members as "Daru". Well versed in the Akihabara culture.

Hiyajo Maho

A senior of Kurisu in university. A researcher. Because of her youthful look, she is often mistaken as a child.
