Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World Season 2, previously entered a hiatus, is returning to ANIPLUS this Spring. It is the anticipated continuation of the 2nd season of the popular Japanese light novel series of the same name, abbreviated as Kimisen, written by Kei Sazane and illustrated by Ao Nekonabe.
Fujimi Shobo, under Kadokawa Corporation, has published sixteen volumes and three short story collections since May 2017 under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko label.

The Empire, a mechanized utopia harnessing highly-developed science and technology. The Nebulis Sovereignty, a nation feared as the “Land of the Witches” whose people use supernatural powers known as astral arts. These two nations have been embroiled in a long-standing war.
Iska, the strongest knight of the Empire, and Aliceliese, the princess of the Sovereignty who is also known as the “Ice Calamity Witch”, learn about each other through crossing swords. Drawn to each other for their way of life and ideals, they become rivals who respect each other.
After shattering the plots of both the Empire and the Sovereignty in the independent country Alsamira, they pledge to meet again before parting ways, only to fulfill that promise in an unexpected way.
Iska strikes a deal with Alice’s younger sister, Sisbell, and infiltrates the Sovereignty disguised as a guard. Meanwhile, Alice visits the Sovereignty’s city of Liesbaden in search of Sisbell.
Their coincidental reunion reignites the fire in their hearts, but… Within the Sovereignty, the Empire’s spy, “Purebred Subject E”, starts acting behind the scenes as the Empire’s “secret mission” to capture the Queen is set in motion.
While the flow of events tear Iska and Alice apart against their will, can they stand against fate…?
The opening theme song, “Senaka Awase”, is performed by AliA, while the ending theme song, “Para Bellum”, is performed by Sizuk.
