Anime showed me similar situations in life where I can relate to the main hero's trials and how they overcome it like it. From struggling with my inner demons, coping with the harsh reality we live in, how to interact to different kinds of people and get some motivation when things get a little more unbearable than usual. Sure, I wish I could move like those guys from the generation of miracles, travel back in time and fix some stuff, have super powers and maybe pilot a Gundam. But the shows usually tell there are consequences to such thing like being involve in an intergalactic wars, bad guys killing people and finding out that your rival can cook water better than you. At the end of the day it is how the heroes deal with the problems that makes us watch the series and gives me inspiration to hang on as things might get better in the end. That or I'll grow a sharingan.
