Green Leaves Entertainment is a tiny production company on the verge of going out of business in Sendai. In danger of having zero talent, the president Tange hatches an idea of producing an idol group. On the brash president's orders, the dissatisfied manager Matsuda heads out to scout raw talent.

Green Leaves Entertainment is in the worst situation any Talent Management Agency can be in... they have NO talent! Desperate for an act, President Junko Tange targets the idol singer market and gives her flunky Matsuda his marching orders: get a girl group to manage, even if it means building one from scratch!
#1 A start of Silence
‘Wake up, Girls!’, made up of 7 members in Sendai, falls into a critical situation where they might fall apart right after the debut since their boss vanishes with company funds.
#2 The Girls on the Stage
Wake Up Girls has a new boss who gets them a new but undesirable job.
#3 The Best Sweetness
Wake Up Girls' old boss is back and she brings a new job for them.
#4 Scandal
The girls get a regular spot on a radio program, but Mayushi is having a hard time: she was a former I-1 club member and has caused a lot of gossip when she dropped out.
#5 Is it heaven or hell?
I-1 club comes to Sendai to meet their fans. They perform a show at the I-1 Sendai Theater, where Wake Up Girls will perform their first live show too.
#6 Long Way to Go!
WUG members go to see I-1 club’s live show and they realize what their current position is at.
#7 Great Fellows!
After panicking and fighting for a while, girls all decide to stay with Airi.
#8 Turmoil!
Hayasaka tells Wake Up Girls to enter the idol festival. If they win, they will have the chance of major debut and sign a contract with the Queen Records.
#9 Living Here!
WUG is currently in a crisis: the members don’t get along with each other. Kaya suggests a training camp.
#10 Gateway!
WUG passes the Tohoku initial screening for the Idol Festival. There are ten teams based in Tohoku. Only one unit will be at the I-1 arena for the final round. The top unit will be decided by online poll, the spot poll and judges' scores.
#11 Idol Rhapsody
Mr. Hayasaka gives the song, ‘First Smile’, which Wake Up Girls sang in the regional preliminaries to I-1 club. Green Leaves is in shock now, because he never mentioned about it.
#12 We won’t regret this moment
Finally it’s time to be on the final stage, but Yoppi stumbles over the cable and gets injured. Mayushi says that WUG should give up.
CHARACTERS
A high school freshman who used to be center in the famous idol group I-1 Club, but left before their big break. She's Airi's best friend, and supports her during her training to become an idol. Nicknamed "Mayushi" by both her peers and fans. Like the I-1 Club, Mayu is the center for Wake Up, Girls!.
A 16 year old high school freshman and Mayu's best friend. She's a simple girl with no particular abilities, but with a lot of drive.
A 14 year old who enjoys eating various kinds of food. She is recruited after Junko saw her winning a local folk song singing competition. She is also known to sing at a local home for senior citizens.
16 years old. Nicknamed "Yoppi" by her peers, she is well-known in Sendai as a former child actress and a model before joining the group. She and Kaya are among the most mature members, often questioning the antics of Kohei and Junko. Because of her having the most experience in the Entertainment Industry, she's often cited as the de fecto leader by the group.
At 13 years old, Nanami is the youngest member of the group. She constantly practices singing, acting, and playing the piano in hopes of becoming a successful idol.
At 18 years old, she is the oldest member of the group. Prior to becoming a member of Wake Up, Girls!, she works at various part-time jobs.
A girl with a bubbly personality. 17 years old. She has a job at a maid café in Sendai and is self described as 'twin tailed and incompetent'. She is willing to participate in almost anything and enjoys being the center of attention whilst respecting others in the group. Miyu is the first person to be successfully recruited by Kohei as a member of the Wake Up, Girls!.
